The nurse looks offended, Hawkeye stifles a laugh and waves back.

There's another brief conversation before Hawkeye says something that earns a begrudging acceptance and the nurse goes back to the desk while he comes over to Betty. He picks up her chart briefly and skims over it before looking up at her.

"So," he says, conversational but quiet so as not to wake any of the other sleeping patients "I hear you're doing better than expected."
